This morning, she told members of the Northern Ireland public that the King, who was being treated for cancer, was disappointed that he could not join her on the trip.
According to her, Charles was 'doing very well' and was 'disappointed' to miss out on the trip to Northern Ireland.
He was instead seen being driven away from Clarence House in central London as a probe continues into the alleged breach of Kate Middleton's private data at the London Clinic.
Later, his car left Buckingham Palace.
Addendum
Charles has stepped down from royal duties, and the Princess of Wales is recovering from abdominal surgery at a London clinic in January.
Last night it became known that three employees of the clinic were suspended from work in connection with an investigation into allegations of attempts to access Kate's personal medical data.
