The attempted murder of Aidos Sadykov took place on June 18 in the yard of the house in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, where Sadykov lived with his wife. Aidos fought for his life for 13 days, but died in hospital.

The suspects are two citizens of Kazakhstan, Altai Zhakanbayev and Meyram Karatayev, who left the territory of Ukraine on the day of the attack. Zhakanbayev later surrendered to law enforcement in Kazakhstan.
