The Council's statement, in particular, notes that "the enemy suffered an undeniable, historic, and crushing defeat in its cowardly, illegal, and criminal war against the Iranian nation."
It is stated that Iran "achieved a great victory and forced criminal America to accept its 10-point plan," in which the United States fundamentally commits to:
- non-aggression;
- preserving Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz;
- consent to uranium enrichment;
- lifting all primary sanctions;
- lifting all secondary sanctions;
- terminating all UN Security Council resolutions;
- terminating all IAEA Board of Governors resolutions;
- paying reparations to Iran;
- withdrawing American combat forces from the region;
- ending the war on all fronts, including the war against the "heroic Islamic Resistance of Lebanon."
We congratulate the entire Iranian people on this victory. ... Iran and the resistance movement have almost completely destroyed the US military machine in the region, inflicting devastating and deep blows on the vast infrastructure and facilities that the enemy has built and deployed in the region over many years for this war with Iran.
Tehran emphasized that "the enemy, approximately 10 days after the start of the war, realized that it could not win this war in any way, and for this reason, it began to try to communicate with Iran and ask for a ceasefire through various channels and methods."
