As a result of a car driving into people in a pedestrian zone in the center of Leipzig, two people were killed and two were seriously injured; in total, about 20 people were affected. This was reported by Spiegel, according to UNN.

Due to a car driving into people on the pedestrian street Grimmaische Straße, two people died, and two victims sustained serious injuries.

Police reported that the driver of the car initially fled the scene, but was later detained and no longer poses a threat. Nothing is yet known about his motives or whether the actions were intentional.
