According to the organization, hundreds of thousands of people are at risk of facing critical levels of malnutrition.
Humanitarian aid deliveries to the region have actually stopped in the past three weeks. The escalation of hostilities, which resumed more than a week ago, forced about 142,000 people to leave their homes, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The UN World Food Program informs that it is forced to reduce rations so that food is enough for as many people as possible. The organization plans to distribute food kits to about 500,000 people, but the possibilities for supply remain limited.
At the same time, Israel states that the military operation is aimed at freeing the hostages held by the Hamas group. According to the Israeli military, more than 20 prisoners may still remain in the Gaza Strip.
