In Cherkasy region, a man with a deferment was abducted and taken 140 km away — Lubinets

In Cherkasy region, a man with a lawful deferment due to caring for his father was detained and taken 140 km from his home. This was reported by Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, according to UNN.

Details

According to him, the man was on his way to work when, as he said, a car stopped next to him.

Men in military uniforms got out, twisted his arms, put handcuffs on him, and took him in an unknown direction. The man only had time to call his father and say: "I have been kidnapped"

- the ombudsman said.

He added that two hours later, the man found himself approximately 140 kilometers from home—with no food, money, or personal belongings.

What followed were even more serious allegations. The man reported threats involving weapons, physical pressure, and being forced to undergo a military medical commission examination. But the main point is already clear: the man had a lawful deferment and was caring for his father!

- Lubinets emphasized.

He concluded that this was not the only similar case recorded in Cherkasy region.
