As reported, today, July 28, at approximately 07:45 in the village of Izhivtsi, Chernivtsi district, police officers arrived at the residence of a 54-year-old local resident to conduct investigative actions within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During the procedural measures, the man fired several shots from a hunting rifle at the law enforcement officers, after which he fled towards the forest area. As a result of the incident, two police officers were injured
The victims are receiving necessary medical assistance.
"To locate and apprehend the armed offender, a special police operation has been introduced on the territory of the region. The necessary police forces and resources have been involved in the search measures," the statement reads.
Citizens were urged to "be vigilant," and if they receive any information about the possible whereabouts of the wanted person or detect a suspicious individual, to immediately report it to the special hotline "102." "Do not take independent measures to detain the armed person," the police emphasized.
Priority investigative and search measures are ongoing.
