At the end of October, he was approached by a friend who, together with a friend, wanted to leave Ukraine illegally. The law enforcement officer offered his services as a "taxi driver" and for 10 thousand US dollars promised not only to give him a ride to the border with Hungary, but also to show him where to go and how to cross the border unnoticed.

The men arrived in Mukachevo on the agreed day, handed over 5 thousand US dollars to the law enforcement officer - the first half of the amount. The rest of the money, according to the investigation, the defendant was supposed to receive from the parents of "clients" - after successfully crossing the border.
The law enforcement officer drove the men to the border zone in his own car and gave clear instructions for their further movement. However, they were still detained by border guards.
A law enforcement officer was also detained, and during the search, the money received from him, as well as a mobile phone and a car were seized.
The person involved in the investigation was informed of suspicion of facilitating the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
