"Huawei Ukraine" held a forum on investments, technologies and legislation in the field of energy storage

On March 15, 2024, Huawei Ukraine organized a forum on investments, technologies and legislation in the field of energy storage facilities "Store and accumulate".

Leading national and international energy market experts identified trends and challenges in the field of CCS, as well as discussed innovations, investment opportunities and legislative regulation of the sector. The importance of stimulating Ukraine's energy sector was emphasized.

Energy storage facilities are already helping to ensure the sustainability of Ukraine's energy sector. And global experience in implementing innovative energy storage systems in countries proves the need for their use. In particular, Huawei's battery energy storage systems effectively solve the problems of balancing renewable energy sources, providing ancillary services, leveling consumption, and organizing backup power for consumers. The safety of users, their property, and investments is at the heart of Huawei's equipment design principles.

"Huawei's energy storage system is a fundamental transition to an environmentally friendly and reliable power system. This solution is not just our technical achievement. It is a symbol of Huawei's commitment to sustainable development, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and build a better future for future generations. We invest not only in technology, but also in the well-being of Ukraine and the entire planet," said Tony Cao, Acting CEO of Huawei Ukraine.

Only energy storage systems will be able to ensure energy independence thanks to renewable energy sources.

"Huawei is truly committed to innovation and sustainability in the energy sector, especially with regard to energy storage systems. Today, we are pleased to introduce our new products - commercial and industrial-scale battery energy storage systems for manufacturing, 200 kWh self-consumption solar power plants for blackouts, and large-scale integrated container systems that will ensure grid stability by providing ancillary services. Huawei recognizes the crucial role of solar energy in ensuring a sustainable future. Therefore, we have invited specialists and experts from different countries to this forum to share experiences and ideas that would help shape the future of innovative energy storage systems in Ukraine and beyond," comments Zhao Xuecheng, Director of Digital Power, Huawei Ukraine.

On the path to decarbonization of Ukraine's energy sector, EMSs play an important role in integrating RES (renewable energy sources) into the energy mix and creating a smart energy system in Ukraine. In addition, the UES will contribute to the environmental transformation of businesses through more efficient decentralization and increased consumption of renewable energy. For example, the EMS provides backup power and optimization of own electricity consumption for organizations, as well as helps to predict the generation of solar or wind power plants. Importantly, in the future, EMS will allow the implementation of technologies such as Smart Grid, Microgrid, Demand Side, virtual power plants, as well as improve the level of management, demand management, local network operations, etc.
