Gymnast Onofriichuk named Athlete of the Month for May in Ukraine

The NOC has recognized Taisiia Onofriichuk as the best athlete of May following her bronze medal at the European Championships. The gymnast holds world-class status and has 25 World Cup awards.
Gymnast Taisiia Onofriichuk has been named the best athlete of May in Ukraine, UNN reports, citing the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine.

The expert commission of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has determined the winner of the traditional "Best Athlete of the Month" contest.
Taisiia Onofriichuk, a representative of rhythmic gymnastics who won a bronze medal in the individual all-around final at the European Championships in Varna (Bulgaria), was recognized as the best athlete of May,
Facts about Taisiia Onofriichuk:
- 18 years old. Native of Kyiv;
- participant of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris;
- 2025 European champion in the individual all-around. This victory was the first for Ukraine in this discipline in the last 28 years and only the third in history;
- two-time bronze medalist of the 2025 World Championships: in the ribbon exercise and the team competition;
- the rhythmic gymnast has 7 continental championship awards (1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze);
- during her performances at the World Cups (2024-2026 seasons), she won 25 medals (10 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze);
- she receives the recognition of best athlete of the month for the second time: last year she was also honored for her medal achievements at the European Championships.
In 2025, the International Gymnastics Federation granted the Ukrainian the status of World Class Gymnast for her performance at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
