Government resumes annual grants for young scientists and doctors of science

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft decree on the renewal of 77 annual presidential grants for young scientists and 20 grants for doctors of science to support their research. The competitive selection of research projects for young scientists will resume in 2025, and for doctors of science in 2026.

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft decree  "On Amendments to Certain Decrees of the President of Ukraine on Annual Grants of the President of Ukraine to Young Scientists and Doctors of Sciences."  The document restores the provision of 77 annual Presidential grants  to support research by young scientists and 20 annual grants for research by doctors of science.  UNN reports this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education. 

Details 

From now on, competitive selections will be resumed: starting in 2025, and starting in 2026, grants from the President of Ukraine for young scientists and grants from the President of Ukraine to doctors of science to conduct research based on the results of such competitions.

Reportedly,  will be responsible for holding competitions for research projects to receive grants from  the National Research Foundation.  Previously, research project competitions were held by the State Foundation for Basic Research.
