While in Paris at the opening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Zurabishvili stressed her concern over the results of the October vote, which brought victory to the ruling Georgian Dream party, as well as the crackdown on protesters. She stressed that there were violations in the elections.
Georgian opposition forces are actively protesting after the elections, accusing the authorities of stealing votes and deviating from the European course. The leader of the largest opposition party, along with several party members, was detained during demonstrations. On Saturday, the opposition said one of its politicians was beaten up during a police raid on the party's office.
