Dramatic events in the Middle East after Iran's attack on Israel, Russia's war in Ukraine, which has been going on for more than two years and has no end in sight, and the priorities of the G7 are the key issues ahead of the April 17-19 summit of foreign ministers on the island of Capri.
It is noted that the ministers of the major Western powers will speak with one voice, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and a reduction in tensions between Israel and Iran.
Ministers from the United States, Italy, Germany, Japan, France, Britain and Canada will also reaffirm their full support for Ukraine in its two-year struggle against aggressive Russia.
If Ukraine is defeated, it will be impossible to reach an agreement. Defeat is not a good bridge for peace. For this, we need to support Ukraine. But the ultimate goal is peace. Peace with justice. Justice and Russia, beyond Ukraine
In addition, Italy's chief diplomat noted that the West alone cannot exert sufficient pressure on Russia to end the war.
If you want to achieve peace, we also need China's participation. The Chinese are Russia's friends
It is worth noting that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will attend the G7 meeting to discuss the situation with regard to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
