According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, between 1 and 5 million pieces of trophy weapons, including automatic firearms, grenades, and mines, remained in the hands of Ukrainian citizens after the war.

Ukrainians may have from one million to five million trophy weapons in their possession, and we are not talking about short-barreled weapons, but automatic weapons, grenades, mines, etc. This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko in an interview at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities on April 12, UNN reports.

"From one million to five million, these are the figures that are being called now, after the war, 2-3 million firearms at least. And these are not short-barreled weapons, but automatic weapons: grenades, mines and even more serious weapons that are now in the hands of citizens," Klymenko said.

The Interior Minister added that the Verkhovna Rada has already passed a law on trophy weapons in the first reading. It stipulates that within 90 days after the end of martial law, these weapons must be handed over to the National Police.
