Two Russian soldiers are sentenced to life imprisonment for the shooting of four civilians in Chernihiv region.

A panel of judges of the Ichnia District Court in Chernihiv region decided to sentence to life imprisonment two Russian soldiers who shot dead four men on the outskirts of the village of Olshana, Pryluky district, on March 1, 2022. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN reports .

Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Pryluky District Prosecutor's Office, two Russian Federation servicemen were found guilty in a special court hearing of violating the laws and customs of war committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Ichnia District Court,

It is noted that the prosecutor proved in court that in March 2022, the commander of a tank platoon of the Russian Armed Forces and his subordinate, the tank commander, while in the village of Olshana, Pryluky district, shot two civilian cars that did not pose any threat to them with automatic weapons.

In one of them, two men were transporting bread and food to residents of the Ichnia community, and in the other, two residents of Ichnia were traveling to a hospital in the city of Pryluky. The drivers and passengers died on the spot.

In addition, the Russian military took possession of the cell phones of the deceased people.

The deputy platoon commander of a special forces unit of the Russian National Guard in Krasnoyarsk Krai was served with a notice of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war. According to the investigation, in occupied Gostomel, the suspect and his colleagues received an order from their commander to kill civilians.
