A traitor from occupied Simferopol, who joined Russian troops and fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Robotyn, was sentenced to 15 years in prison based on SBU materials.
A traitor from the temporarily occupied Crimea, who shot at Ukrainian soldiers near Robotyn in Zaporizhzhia region, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a court, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said on Thursday, UNN reports.
Details
The traitor fought against the Defense Forces in southern Ukraine, being a member of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet of the aggressor country, the special service noted. "In the ranks of the invaders, he built racist fortifications and fired at the positions of the Armed Forces on the front line in Zaporizhzhia region," the agency said.
Ukrainian defenders reportedly captured him during fierce fighting near Robotyn in August 2023.
As the investigation established, the convict is a resident of the temporarily occupied Simferopol. In November 2022, he voluntarily "mobilized" to the Russian occupation groups. There, he was given an automatic weapon with ammunition and appointed to the position of a shooter, the SBU said.
Subsequently, as noted, his unit was redeployed to the left-bank Kherson region, where he equipped fortifications. "Then the traitor was sent to the Pologovsky district in Zaporizhzhia region to deter the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the SBU said.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the offender guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The court sentenced the offender to 15 years in prison.
