An F-16 fighter jet of the Greek Air Force crashed into the sea near the island of Psathoura during a training flight, the pilot managed to escape using the ejection system.
A Greek Air Force F-16 Block 52+ fighter jet crashed into the sea near the small island of Psathoura in the northern Aegean Sea. This was reported by Ekathimerini, according to UNN.

It is noted that the pilot managed to escape using the ejection system. He was found and picked up by a Super Puma helicopter, which took him to the hospital.
The fighter jet, which belongs to the 337th Squadron of the 110th Fighter Wing, took part in a training flight (the area is a training ground), the Greek Air Force said.
The authorities sent Super Puma and Sikorsky S70 helicopters from Marathon airbase, a Canadair plane from Thessaloniki, and the frigate Aegeus to participate in the search and rescue operation, assisted by the Coast Guard.
