Power outages have affected about 350,000 electricity consumers in Kharkiv and the region, as well as restrictions in Kryvyi Rih, 12 settlements remain without power due to bad weather, but no electricity shortages are expected, and Ukraine has provided emergency assistance to Poland.

In Kharkiv and the region, power cuts are applied to about 350,000 electricity consumers, and there are also restrictions for Kryvyi Rih. Due to the bad weather, 12 settlements remain without electricity. No electricity shortages are expected, and Ukraine has provided emergency assistance to Poland. This was reported on Thursday by the Ministry of Energy, UNN writes.

Generation, transmission and consumption

"In Kharkiv, hourly outage schedules were applied yesterday, and about 100 thousand customers were cut off from electricity. Restrictions have also been applied this morning - about 350 thousand consumers are disconnected in the city of Kharkiv and districts of the region. There are also consumption restrictions in Kryvyi Rih district in Dnipropetrovs'k region," the Ministry of Energy said.

No restrictions are planned in other regions, as indicated. "No shortage of electricity is expected," the ministry added.

"Yesterday, due to excessive electricity generation, the generation from renewable energy sources was limited to a total of 2373 MWh. Ukraine also carried out emergency electricity supplies to Poland. The total amount of electricity transmitted was 1500 MWh," the Ministry of Energy said.

Ukraine's energy system is said to be "stable and balanced".

Networks status

Yesterday afternoon, for technological reasons, consumers in the central part of Kyiv - residential high-rise buildings and 29 institutions on Khreshchatyk Street and Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street - were cut off. Within an hour, everyone was reconnected, the ministry said.

In the city of Kryvyi Rih, a 150 kV overhead line was reportedly cut off last night due to a technological failure, which cut off power to a high-speed tram, a local thermal power plant, and household and industrial consumers. In less than an hour, the overhead line was turned back on, and all consumers were supplied with power, the Ministry of Energy noted.

Consequences of bad weather

"Due to the bad weather in Ukraine, 12 settlements remain without electricity - 9 in Chernihiv region and 3 in Zhytomyr region," the statement said.

The situation at ZNPP

"The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased and is 15.50 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.

Import and export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 5042 MWh. No exports are expected.
