According to South Korea's defense minister, since last year, North Korea has shipped about 7,000 containers of ammunition and other military equipment to Russia.

North Korea has sent about 7,000 containers of ammunition and other military equipment to Russia since last year. This was stated by South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik, reports Sky News, writes UNN

According to Shin Won-sik, North Korea initially relied on ships to deliver weapons to Russia, but is now increasingly using railroads. He added that Pyongyang probably received more than 9,000 containers of aid in exchange for military support.

According to Sky News, the United States and South Korea have previously accused North Korea of sending shells and other military aid to Russia during the war in Ukraine. In turn,  Russia and Pyongyang have denied these allegations.

South Korea's defense minister made the announcement during a press conference hours after the South Korean military said that the DPRK had launched short-range ballistic missiles in the country's eastern waters.
