Dozens of dolphins died in the Black Sea near occupied Crimea, Novorossiysk, and the coast of Russia's Krasnodar Territory in March 2024 due to military operations, some of them showing signs of sonar damage, bringing the total number of dead animals since March 2022 to 50,000.

In March 2024, several dozen dolphins have already died in the bays of Sevastopol and other coasts of the occupied Crimea. There have also been found shell-shocked animals with symptoms of sonar damage (means of sound detection of underwater objects using acoustic radiation - ed.) Moreover, there are many bottlenose dolphins among the dead. The current has also brought to our Odesa and Bulgarian shores azov whales that died from the war in the orc-occupied waters of the Black Sea
According to him, the animals are dying because of the activity of Russian submarines and surface vessels near Crimea and Novorossiysk.
Rusev noted that the sea "throws away" only 5% of the bodies, so the number of dead animals can reach several thousand.
He added that dolphins began dying en masse in March 2022.
