“Do you believe? Anything can happen on home soil” - 2026 World Cup promo released in the US

FOX Sports has unveiled a promotional video in the US for the World Cup, which, in addition to the US, will be held in Canada and Mexico. The video depicts the US national team's victory over Brazil in the World Cup final, fan celebrations across the country, and legendary Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, who apparently lost a bet and is getting his head shaved, UNN reports.

Details

The video begins with the World Cup final between the US and Brazil tied at 2:2; American winger Christian Pulisic puts his team ahead one minute before the end of the match, thus securing the trophy for the US.

Following the national team's victory, the entire country celebrates, with wild festivities and parades on the streets.

Further in the video, former Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović is shown having his head shaved with a clipper by legendary American football player Tom Brady, who says: "I told you we'd win." Ibrahimović says: "Zlatan still has hope," to which Brady replies: "Oh no, it's gone."

It should be noted that both athletes, as well as Thierry Henry and Clarence Seedorf, will work as experts for FOX Sports during the World Cup.

The video then shows a news anchor from one of the TV channels saying that due to the celebrations, liquor stores across the state of Texas have run out of beer.

The clip also features US national team players who have become new heroes for the country. Their posters are hung everywhere; for instance, a boy unfolds a poster of striker Timothy Weah on his bedroom wall, a pickup truck driver replaces a figurine of American football player John Elway on his dashboard with midfielder Weston McKennie, who is later shown on dollar bills. Additionally, the video shows former US national team coach Bruce Arena watching his country's triumph on TV with tears in his eyes.

The video concludes with a scene in a bar where two fans are discussing a potential World Cup victory: "You think the US is going to win the World Cup?", to which the other man replies: "It could happen." The fan says: "It's never going to happen," and legendary American hockey player Mike Eruzione intervenes in the conversation, saying: "What? You don't believe in miracles?".

Eruzione's words are a reference to the legendary "Miracle on Ice," when the US hockey team, consisting entirely of college players, won at the 1980 Olympics in a match against the USSR national team. That game ended with a score of 4:3, and it was Eruzione who scored the winning goal.

The video ends with the phrase: "Anything can happen."
