At a recent meeting of of the ministries of industry, defense, state and private producers was confirmed that domestic capabilities continue to grow, but the available budget funds are still enough for half of the capacity of the of the domestic market in 2024. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Telegram channel of the Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshyn, Minister of Strategic Industry.
Together with Defense Minister Umerov, we held a working meeting with Ukrainian defense industry manufacturers. Our defense industry has done a good job this year. Despite the shelling, staff shortages, and insufficient order intake. Compared to the previous year, 2022, the capabilities have more than tripled. And next year, our domestic capabilities will increase by another 6 times - compared to 2023. (...) The Ministry of Defense has announced its approach to the formation of the 2024 requirement and the contracting procedure. The position of the Ministry of Defense is constructive and understandable - the funds currently available in the budget are enough to contract about half of the capacity of the domestic market next year. (...) However, we understand that the necessary funds will be found
According to information of the Minister, the meeting was attended by more than Ministry of Defense, the meeting was attended by more than 30 major private manufacturers, key associations, as well as state-owned plants.
Among other issues, the meeting discussed issues were discussed: simplification of procedures, affordable lending, etc.
The conclusion for Today: domestic production still does not cover the needs of the Defense Forces, and therefore, dependence on external supplies from Ukraine's partners remains. At the same time, there is an urgent task to increase production capacity further and to actively purchase products from domestic producers.
As UNN reported earlier,
Ukraine already has certain supplies from abroad, Ukraine has already had some success in weapons production. The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin noted that the greatest emphasis is on the production of missiles.
