"The driver, driving a Renault K460.44, did not lower the body after unloading and hit a pedestrian bridge. As a result of the accident, part of the bridge collapsed," the patrol police said.
As indicated, an accident involving a Renault truck occurred on the 208th kilometer of the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway, near the city of Uman in Cherkasy region.
"The driver of the Renault was examined by doctors and refused to be hospitalized," the statement said.
All relevant services are working at the scene and the issue of qualifying and bringing the driver to justice is being resolved.
"Work is underway to clean the roadway," the statement said.
