Currently, russia does not have sufficient forces in belarus to pose a threat to Ukraine, and the situation at the belarusian border is constantly monitored by the Border Guard Service.

russia does not have the strength in belarus to pose a threat to Ukraine at the moment. The situation remains under control. This was announced by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN

On the border with belarus, the situation does not change, it remains controlled, and on the other side of the border we do not see russia having any forces to pose a threat at the moment

- Demchenko said.

According to him, intelligence units, including the SBGSU, are actively monitoring what is happening in belarus in order to understand how much the situation may change in order to respond adequately.

We understand that this direction remains a threat to us, so we continue to strengthen it, both in terms of engineering directly along the border and in terms of fortifications in the border areas, in order to have every opportunity to repel any attack

- Demchenko said.

He recalled that russia had once withdrawn all of its units that had been trained in belarus   and did not bring in new ones as part of the rotation.

There is still a certain number of russian military personnel on the territory of belarus, but they are more of a maintenance staff that provides service for the equipment that remains in belarus

- Demchenko noted.
