In a letter signed by U.S. House members Joe Wilson, a Republican, and Steve Cohen, a Democrat, Biden is asked to “grant Poland the authority to intercept and neutralize missiles over Ukraine, especially those that threaten to invade Polish airspace.
The request is based on Poland's desire to use its air defense capabilities over Ukrainian airspace to protect itself from Russian missiles and to help Ukraine in its defense.
Despite Russia's constant escalation of hybrid warfare - violations of airspace, attacks on critical infrastructure, and attempts to destabilize democratic institutions - we have not dared to confront these threats decisively, allowing Russia to wage war against the Alliance with minimal consequences,
According to the congressmen, in this context, Poland's request to intercept and neutralize missiles over Ukraine is both necessary and urgent as a mechanism to support Ukraine and protect NATO's front line.
