Chinese swimmer Zhang Yufei won the most medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The athlete finished her performance at this tournament with six Olympic awards.
Interesting fact: Zhang Yufei won two gold medals within an hour in Tokyo, breaking two records.
She first won the 200-meter butterfly on Thursday morning, setting an Olympic record of 2:03.86. It was only after the awards ceremony that her coach informed her that she would also be competing in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay immediately afterwards.
Frenchman Leon Marchand became the leader in gold medals. With five medals, he is one of the most successful athletes at the Paris Games.
