A 6.2-magnitude earthquake in northwestern China on December 18 killed at least 149 people and left two missing.
One of China's most powerful earthquakes in recent years has killed at least 149 people in a remote northwestern region, with two people still missing after the 6.2-magnitude quake struck a week ago, UNN reports citing Reuters.
The epicenter of the aftershocks was in Gansu and Qinghai provinces.

The earthquake occurred on Monday, December 18, about 1300 km southwest of Beijing. According to the China Research Center, the earthquake had a center depth of 10 km. The disaster killed at least 113 people in Gansu province and 18 in the neighboring Qinghai province; hundreds of thousands of homes were also damaged.
