President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of mountain communities to discuss the challenges and prospects for developing mountain territories. These are the mountain territorial communities of Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia regions, UNN reports, citing Zelenskyy’s post on social media.

During the video conference, Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi, Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk, Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko, Minister of Economy and Environment Oleksandr Kravchenko, Minister of Education and Science Andrii Butenko, Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, and Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi also spoke.

We also discussed issues important at the local level: taxation of forestry and the tourist fee, the development and financing of roads, providing communities with the necessary transport, and the accessibility of school education

The president also said that he had instructed the Prime Minister and the ministers of finance and of community and infrastructure development to review the capacity of local budgets with the communities and conduct a logistics audit. According to him, this is necessary to ensure that public services and institutions are accessible to "every person in Ukraine, including in remote mountain regions."
