First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska visited the opening of "Book Arsenal" today. Details
As Olena Zelenska reported, "Book Arsenal" in Kyiv continues during the full-scale invasion, and this is no less important for social resilience than numerous special therapies. Literature rewards its admirers by helping them hold on and "Carry Your Freedom" – this is the focus theme of the 14th International Festival "Book Arsenal," which opened today. Its curator is Ukrainian human rights activist and former prisoner of war Maksym Butkevych. The "Writer's Program" will be curated by another writer – AFU serviceman Andriy Lyubka.
More than 150 participants and 240 events will be presented by publishing houses, bookstores, volunteer initiatives, as well as an illustrators' fair.
Together with the Director General of the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Culture, Arts and Museum Complex, Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta, and the Director of the 14th "Arsenal," Yuliia Kozlovets, the First Lady got acquainted with the new releases from publishing houses.
There are hundreds of them, and my eyes were wandering. Ukraine cannot be stopped or defeated if writing and reading are experiencing such a rise among us. I would like to read everything, but this time I am taking these three books with me: "Hemingway Knows Nothing" by Artur Dron (Old Lion Publishing House), "The Power of Three: Balancing the New World Order" (A-ba-ba-ha-la-ma-ha) – a book by the President of Finland Alexander Stubb, and "Narratives of Mass Destruction: Tactics and Strategies of Information Warfare" (Nash Format) – a work by Artem Zakharchenko
Additionally
Today, in the Swedish city of Uppsala, the President of Ukraine held important negotiations with the Prime Minister of Sweden.
And although the President could not be at "Book Arsenal" himself today, his choice fell on the books "1913: The Summer of the Century" (Laboratoria) and "Time for Dignity: Justice in an Unjust World" (Nash Format), which he presented to Ulf Kristersson
Zelenska invited everyone to "read, support our authors and publishing houses, and thus support yourselves. Because books truly know how to do that."
