Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that before moving on to monitoring peace after the end of the war, it is necessary to monitor the ceasefire. He said this during a joint press conference with Czech leader Petr Pavel, a UNN correspondent reports.

I didn't quite understand the question. You are talking about monitoring peace. Let's get there, because we need to monitor the end of the war. We are talking about the first step and for this, teams will meet – monitoring the ceasefire, because Russia is constantly violating it. And this is even before the agreement on ending the war 

Zelenskyy stressed that the primary task is to cease fire. This is what Ukraine is working on together with its colleagues.

Of course, first we must agree on a cease-fire. And here it is really important who will monitor it. And we talked about it with various of our colleagues – Great Britain, France, the United States of America. That is, with those countries with which we work along the lines of intelligence 

Finally, Zelenskyy added that it is difficult to support the monitoring of the ceasefire by the Russians, so he has always emphasized that the cheapest and most effective way to guarantee security is NATO.

MFA spokesman Tykhyi stated that the meeting of the Ukrainian team with the American one on Monday in Saudi Arabia is a technical round, not a political one. No contacts with Russians are planned.
