Law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to an employee of the Ternopil Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) on the fact of intentional grievous bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by UNN with reference to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Sphere of Defense of the Western Region.

According to the investigation, in May 2024, during notification measures for conscripts in Ternopil, a conflict arose between members of the notification group and a local resident.

During the incident, the serviceman struck the 49-year-old man several times in the chest. The victim sustained severe, life-threatening bodily injuries, including rib fractures and chest trauma,

- the prosecutor's office reported.

The detainee could face 5 to 8 years in prison. Prosecutors are preparing a motion to select a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention. The possible involvement of other individuals is also being investigated.
