He is the latest in a series of Hamas political leaders to be killed in renewed airstrikes, after the group's de facto government leader Essam Addalis and internal security chief Mahmoud Abu Watfa were killed along with several other officials on Tuesday.
The Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health says at least 19 people, including Bardawil, were killed in the overnight strikes.
