A quarter of the fighting took place in two directions — the General Staff updated its data on the situation at the front

233 battles took place at the front over the past day, with the most occurring in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning briefing on August 15, UNN writes.

A total of 233 combat engagements were recorded over the past day

Yesterday, the enemy launched 71 airstrikes, dropping 241 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders used 10,626 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,042 attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops, 36 of them using multiple-launch rocket systems.

The enemy shelled the populated areas of Neskuchne, Bachivsk, Korenok, Sopich, Tovstodubove, Yastrubshchyna, Volfyne, Hirky, Bezzalivka, Kozache, Seredyna-Buda, and Rohizne in Sumy region. Tovstodubove was hit by an airstrike.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two command posts, five areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, three artillery systems, and eight command posts for unmanned aerial vehicles.

The situation by direction

In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, our defenders stopped six enemy assaults over the past day. At the same time, the aggressor launched four airstrikes, dropping eight aerial bombs, and carried out 62 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas.

In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian units repelled 12 enemy attacks. The invaders attempted to advance near Starytsia and Vovchansk and toward the populated areas of Izbytske, Vilcha, Lyman, Shyroke, Anyksyne, and Khatnie.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched 14 offensive actions toward Petro-Ivanivka and in the area of Holubivka.

Attempts to break into our defenses were repelled in the Lyman direction, where the occupiers attacked five times toward the populated areas of Drobysheve and Lyman.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out 23 assault actions in the areas of the populated areas of Riznykivka, Zakitne, and Kryva Luka and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka, Ozerne, and Mykolaivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian invaders carried out one offensive action toward Yurkivka.

Thirty-four attacks were recorded in the Kostiantynivka direction. The invaders conducted assault actions in the areas of the populated areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Toretske, and Sofiivka and toward the populated areas of Stepanivka, Dolha Balka, and Kucheriiv Yar.

The enemy carried out 29 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of the populated areas of Dorozhnie, Kotlyne, and Udachne and toward the populated areas of Svitle, Novyi Donbas, Muravka, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, and Serhiivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the invaders carried out six attacks toward the populated areas of Piddubne, Myrne, Verbove, and Kalynivske.

In the Huliaipole direction, the occupiers attacked the positions of our defenders seven times. The enemy attempted to advance toward the populated areas of Rivne, Verkhniа Tersa, and Novoselivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped one attempt by the enemy to advance toward Pavlivka.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy conducted no assault actions over the past day.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
