A 26-year-old funeral service worker who threw away 20 urns with human ashes has been notified of suspicion. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.

Details

Under the procedural supervision of the Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, a 26-year-old employee of a private funeral service was served a notice of suspicion of repeatedly desecrating an urn with the ashes of the deceased (Part 1, 3 Art. 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the article, the possible punishment is restriction of liberty for a period of four to five years or imprisonment for a period of four to seven years.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Podilskyi Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv.

Recall

In March, urns with ashes were found on Syretska Street in Kyiv. The relatives of the deceased ordered cremation through a private funeral service, which, after the procedure, transferred the ashes from the large urns of the crematorium to smaller urns provided by the families. Since not all of the ashes could fit, the remains had to be disposed of. However, the funeral service worker threw 36 urns, 20 of which contained ashes, into a vacant lot.
