An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude struck northern Chile around 22:50 this Thursday. According to the United States Geological Survey, the depth of the moderate earthquake was 123 km.

The tremors were widely felt in the region. The epicenter of the tremors was 265 km east of the coastal city of Antofagasta, in the region of the same name, near the Atacama Desert, on the border with Bolivia and Argentina.

The earthquake was talked about in Brazil - on social networks, residents of São Paulo reported tremors.
