It is noted that the first signal about the fire in the building in the city center was received at 11:59. Fifteen fire trucks were engaged in extinguishing the fire. According to firefighters, the flames engulfed part of the roof of the building. There is no information about the cause of the fire.

Assistant Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade Keeley Foster said the building's antiquity and design posed a challenge to extinguish. Crews will remain on site overnight.
