Local residents reported the fire at around 11:00 a.m. local time. ASTRA confirmed through video that the territory of RN-Komsomolsk Refinery LLC was on fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. There is no information yet about casualties or the extent of the damage.
The facility was commissioned in 1942. Its designed capacity is approximately 8 million tonnes of oil per year. The refinery produces K5-standard motor gasoline and diesel fuel, marine fuel, and other petroleum products, and is one of the key fuel suppliers in Russia’s Far East.
