In Geneva, approximately 16,000 police officers, military personnel, and emergency service workers have been deployed to maintain order ahead of a large-scale protest against the G7 summit. Up to 50,000 demonstrators are expected to participate. This was reported by BILD, according to UNN.

The situation in central Geneva resembles a state of emergency: fearing riots, owners of hundreds of shops, banks, and supermarkets have boarded up the windows and facades of their establishments. Up to 50,000 demonstrators are expected to gather here today. Opponents of the summit intend to protest a range of issues, including the war in the Gaza Strip, global overexploitation of resources, and the economic hegemony of the "Group of Seven" countries.

– the report states.

To ensure security during the event, authorities have deployed about 16,000 security and emergency service personnel, including four thousand Swiss military personnel.

Also, according to available data, thousands of demonstrators are already gathering at the site.

The G7 summit will take place in Évian in the French Alps from June 15 to 17. Because France did not permit any demonstrations for the occasion, it was decided to hold the protest in Geneva – approximately 50 km from Évian
