Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi

The oldest city in the territory of modern Odesa Oblast
Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi is a city and the administrative center of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Raion of Odesa Oblast. It is located on the banks of the Dniester Estuary, 18 kilometers from the Black Sea and 81 kilometers from Odesa. Founded in the 6th century BC as the Greek settlement of Tyras, the city has over 2,500 years of continuous history, making it one of the oldest in Ukraine and Europe. Its population as of January 1, 2025, is 46.7 thousand people, and its territory covers about 19 square kilometers.
