Zelenskyy dismissed Chentsov from the post of Ukraine's representative to the EU

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing Vsevolod Chentsov from the post of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the European Union. The text of the document was published on the head of state's website, reports UNN.

"Dismiss Vsevolod Valeriyovych Chentsov from the post of Representative of Ukraine to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community," the document reads.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk held the first meeting with the newly appointed Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vsevolod Chentsov.

Ukraine's successful progress towards membership in the European Union requires clear, systematic and constant coordination between parliament and government. ... The Verkhovna Rada remains a reliable institution in ensuring the necessary legislative changes aimed at fulfilling membership criteria and further advancing the negotiation process

The parties also discussed issues of protecting Ukraine's interests in the areas of security and defense, economy, and ensuring the well-being of citizens.

Career diplomat Vsevolod Chentsov has joined the government for the first time. He assumed the post of Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.

Before this, Chentsov worked in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ukrainian embassies in Poland and Turkey, and the Mission of Ukraine to the EU. In 2017, he became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Netherlands. Since 2021, he has headed the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union.
