President Zelenskyy discussed the legal procedures for appointing Yevhen Khmara as acting Minister of Defense. Khmara was responsible for long-range operations of the SBU and will oversee long-range operations of the Security Forces.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi the legal procedures to ensure the appointment of Yevhen Khmara as acting Minister of Defense, reports UNN.
Khmara was responsible for long-range operations of the Security Service of Ukraine. We agreed that Khmara will also oversee long-range operations of the Security Forces – this is a priority. He knows exactly what Ukraine needs and can also control the internal situation in the components of the Defense Forces: he has sufficient security experience to prevent things that are shameful. Now we have discussed with Serhiy Koretskyi the legal procedures to ensure this appointment and the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
In addition, the President emphasized that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will continue all work to support combat brigades – the long-range sanctions plan is being fully implemented.
