Admiral Brad Cooper, who heads the US Central Command, told reporters in a phone call that "US forces are monitoring every Iranian port," UNN reports with reference to AP.
"We are monitoring every Iranian vessel in every port. Period. And period," Cooper said, adding that the US military presence in the region could remain indefinitely.
