Ukraine will receive around $9 billion from Norway: Støre reveals details of the aid

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that his country plans to maintain its support for Ukraine in 2027 at around $9 billion. The official made the statement in Kyiv on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine, UNN reports.

In addition, Ukraine and Norway will sign a declaration on strategic partnership.

The Norwegian prime minister noted the resilience of the Ukrainian people and emphasized Ukraine’s right to determine its own future. According to him, Norway’s support will cover the military, economic, financial and humanitarian spheres, while the specific areas of assistance will be determined in accordance with Ukraine’s needs.

We will provide financial, economic and military assistance — in line with Ukraine’s priorities. Ukraine determines its needs, and we do everything possible to meet them. Supporting and rebuilding Ukraine is not only about assistance; it is an investment in Europe’s own security, and our commitment to Ukraine is a long-term one

— Støre said.

The prime minister also said that in 2027 Norway intends to maintain the volume of support for Ukraine at approximately its current level — around $9 billion.

This amounts to 85 billion Norwegian kroner. The Norwegian government is expected to submit the relevant proposal to the country’s parliament. Most of the funds are expected to continue to be directed toward military support for Ukraine, including the purchase of products from Ukraine’s defense industry.

In addition, Støre announced the signing of a declaration on strategic partnership between Ukraine and Norway, which is intended to establish long-term cooperation between the two states. According to the Norwegian prime minister, the partnership will be mutually beneficial, particularly in the areas of defense, technology and building a resilient society.
