Ukraine to purchase long-range artillery shells from Rheinmetall

Ukraine has ordered several tens of thousands of 155-mm ER02A1 B/B artillery shells and M203 charges from Rheinmetall. The contract is worth tens of millions of euros, with execution scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

Ukraine has signed a contract with the German company Rheinmetall for the supply of several tens of thousands of 155-mm artillery shells and propellant charges. This was reported by Rheinmetall, as conveyed by UNN.

"Ukraine has ordered from Rheinmetall the supply of long-range artillery ammunition. The order includes 155-mm artillery shells and powder charges in a volume amounting to several tens of thousands of units.
The value of the contract, which will be reflected in the financial statements in the second quarter of 2026, amounts to several tens of millions of euros. Production has already begun, and the execution of the contract is planned for the first quarter of 2027," the statement reads.
The ammunition is being manufactured at the Rheinmetall Expal Munitions plant in Spain.
As stated by the company, the ER02A1 B/B shells and M203 powder charges are already in use by various NATO countries. They can be launched from a wide range of 155-mm weapon systems, providing long range and high effectiveness.
