Depression is reported to be a widespread global problem, affecting approximately 3.4% of the world's population, which is approximately 264 million people.
In Ukraine, which ranked first, the share of the population suffering from depression is 6.3 percent.
The second and third places were taken by the United States and Australia with 5.9 percent. Estonia took the fourth place and Brazil the fifth.
The Solomon Islands, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, and the Federated States of Micronesia are the last in the ranking.
In these countries, depression occurs in 2.9 to 3.1 percent of the population.
