The EU Committee of Permanent Representatives approved the opening of negotiations with Ukraine under the "External Relations" cluster. The official opening is expected on July 14 at the Intergovernmental Conference.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU member states has agreed to open negotiations with Ukraine on Cluster 6 "External Relations". Official Kyiv expects the official opening of a new negotiation cluster on EU accession on July 14. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this, UNN reports.
We expect the official opening (of the sixth cluster - ed.) at the Intergovernmental Conference on July 14
The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine is taking another important step towards full membership in the European Union.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU member states has agreed to open negotiations with Ukraine on Cluster 6 "External Relations". This allows us to move to practical work on the conditions of accession in a new area of the negotiation process
According to her, the cluster covers areas that are of key importance for the security of Ukraine and all of Europe today: foreign policy, security and defense, trade, humanitarian aid, and development cooperation.
It is important that the level of Ukraine's alignment with EU decisions and statements in the field of foreign and security policy is 98%. This is the assessment submitted for the European Commission report
