Two Odesa residents are detained for storing and distributing child pornography

Two residents of Odesa were exposed for storing and distributing more than 450 thousand photo and video files with child pornography.
In Odesa, law enforcement officers served suspicion notices to two local residents who stored and distributed child pornography. More than 450 thousand photo and video files with pornographic content involving children were found on their laptops. This was reported by the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Cyber police found that both men downloaded child pornography content from the Internet to satisfy their own sexual needs. And one of them reportedly also distributed it on websites with similar content for others to use.
During the searches of their homes, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment with a total of about 400,000 photos and 50,000 videos.
Experts confirmed their prohibited content, which included images of a child (or a person who looked like a child) engaged in real or simulated sexually explicit behavior
One of the men was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine of distributing child pornography. He faces up to 12 years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years. Reportedly, he has already been imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with the right to be released on bail in the amount of 242 thousand hryvnias.
The second man was charged under Part 1 of Article 301-1 of the same Code with intentionally gaining access to child pornography using information and telecommunication systems, and storing child pornography without the purpose of sale or distribution. Such an offense is punishable by probationary supervision for up to five years, or restraint of liberty for the same period, or imprisonment for a term of two to six years. The issue of choosing a type of detention is currently being decided.
