U.S. President Donald Trump will undergo his annual medical examination at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26, following a year of increased scrutiny regarding his health and the emergence of new questions about the American leader's physical condition. This was reported by The Guardian, according to UNN.
Photos showing rashes and swelling drew attention
As the publication notes, media outlets have recently been actively discussing photographs of Trump with a rash on his neck, as well as images taken back in July 2025, which showed swollen ankles and bruises on his hand masked by makeup.
White House physician Sean Barbabella stated that the president uses a "common cream as a preventative skin treatment," but did not disclose details regarding a diagnosis.
After the photos of swelling and bruising appeared, Barbabella assured that Trump's condition did not indicate thrombosis or arterial disease.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the swelling was related to a "common venous disease," and the bruises on his hand were explained by a large number of handshakes.
Trump will celebrate his 80th birthday in June
On June 14, Donald Trump will turn 80 years old.
After returning to the White House in January 2025, he became the oldest U.S. president at the time of inauguration.
Trump regularly emphasizes his physical fitness and compares himself to the previous president, Joe Biden, who left office at age 82 amid discussions about his health.

The Guardian also recalls that in October 2025, Trump reported undergoing an MRI.
Initially, the White House did not explain the reasons for the examination, but later stated that the results showed the president's "exceptional physical condition."
Meanwhile, medical experts pointed out that an MRI is not typically part of a standard annual physical and is conducted for detailed investigation of specific organs or body systems.
