US President Donald Trump did not rule out that the operation in Cuba could be similar to the rapid seizure of power in Venezuela. He noted that Cuba is located closer to the US, which simplifies logistics.
U.S. President Donald Trump said that a potential American operation in Cuba could develop along the lines of the rapid seizure of power in Venezuela that occurred earlier this year. He stated this in an interview with the Axios Show program, Axios reports, writes UNN.

Answering a question about the possible similarity of an operation in Cuba to the events in Venezuela, Trump said: "Maybe. It's possible." According to him, Cuba is located much closer to the U.S. than Iran, so potential actions there would be simpler from a logistical point of view.
The American president also compared the resources of the two countries, noting that Venezuela has large oil reserves, while Cuba has "good property and a good coastline." At the same time, he emphasized that the operation against Iran was significantly larger in terms of armament and military capabilities.
According to Axios, the Trump administration is considering options for responding to a possible collapse of the Cuban regime and has corresponding military plans. At the same time, the president himself stated that he prefers a peaceful transfer of power on the island. Answering a question about the timing of a possible operation, Trump noted that they remain "flexible," and Secretary of State Marco Rubio is actively involved in work on the Cuban direction.
