The SSU emphasizes that in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and presidential decrees, heads of foreign states, governments, parliaments and international organizations who are in Ukraine on official or working visits are provided with state protection by the State Security Department of Ukraine.
Servicemen of the State Security Department of Ukraine, together with the relevant units of the National Police, have the right to temporarily restrict or prohibit the movement of vehicles and pedestrians on streets and roads during the passage of motor transport of heads of foreign states, governments, parliaments, heads of international intergovernmental organizations and foreign delegations who are in Ukraine on an official visit.
They may also deny citizens access to certain areas and objects, require them to remain in certain places or leave them.
